About Us
Combining over 15 years experience in the Wine Trade and Client Services in The City, the ‘LI’ and ‘ON’ are two friends, Lisa and John. They combined their mutual love of drinking fine wine in fine places, but more often than not, making memories with friends and family over a glass of wine. From that, LION Wines was created.
They are passionate about wine; where it comes from, how it is made and the people who dedicate their livelihoods to producing it. As a result, we continually challenge ourselves to learn and are excited to share that knowledge with you. Our positive energy comes from the people we meet at our events, sharing our passion for wine.
At LION Wines, we invite you on a journey to uncover the rich history and passion behind every bottle. Our expert guidance will take you through the regions and the lives of the ordinary people whose dedication shines in each vintage.
Lisa Chisholm
WSET Level 3. With a genuine love for the art and science of wine (yes, science—think soil, climate, and more!), Lisa brings a thoughtful appreciation and expanding knowledge to every part of her new career in the wine industry. Over the past 3 years, she has immersed herself in vineyards and cellars, refining her palate and deepening her understanding of the unique qualities that each region, grape, and vintage holds. In her former career in Financial Client Services, wine menu choices were often quick decisions shaped by budget. Now, after earning her wine certifications, Lisa approaches these selections with insight and expertise. A devoted mum to two boys under twelve, Lisa keeps busy guiding others through tastings and contributing to wine education. Her approach is marked by curiosity, dedication, and a warm enthusiasm that invites everyone to join in the world of wine.

A Canadian by birth and a long time UK resident, John has crafted a unique life around his two biggest passions: wine and storytelling. Husband to Kirsty, proud father of Eloise and Tristan, and ever-faithful servant to Enzo, the King Charles Cavalier, John balances family life with his role as a dedicated wine educator and writer. Each day starts with a dive into North American sports stats—a habit that keeps him close to his roots, no matter where he lives. An enthusiastic foodie and avid traveller, John embraces each journey as a chance to expand his palate and explore new vineyards. His love for wine runs deep, from walking the soil where it all begins to learning the personal stories behind each bottle. And it’s this first hand experience that fuels his passion for sharing knowledge. John’s approach to wine education is warm, engaging, and a touch humorous (at least, he likes to think so), making the world of wine accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

How it Works
All of our tastings are tailored to your needs, and as such, pricing is personalised.
Simply let us know how many guests you'll be sharing the experience with, and we'll craft the perfect package for you.
We recommend five different wines per session for a well-rounded tasting experience.
Choose from our four available packages below, share your tastes and preferences, and we’ll design an unforgettable experience just for you. Our tasting sessions typically last three hours, during which our wine consultants will guide you through the wines in a fun, engaging, and informative way. At the end of the tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase any of the wines you've sampled.
Signature Experience
Our signature package with all wines between £10 - £15 per bottle.
Reserve Experience
Featuring wines priced between £15 and £30 per bottle, this package is a fantastic way to explore wines that go beyond the everyday
Grand Cru Experience
Our deluxe package offers a curated selection of premium wines, each priced between £30 and £50 per bottle. Carefully chosen for their exceptional quality and distinct character, these wines represent some of the finest offerings from renowned vineyards. Ideal for those looking to elevate their wine experience, this collection provides a perfect balance of elegance and complexity
Blended Experience
A wonderful mix of wines from all three packages with a guarantee of at least one bottle from our Grand Cru range!

Minimum fee £150 for up to 3 hours.
